Enjoy today's edition of RunPorn. Oh and if you're a Twitter user, do a search for #youknowyourearunnerwhen - it was a great chat that started on Wednesday with some good laughs to be had, such as: #youknowyourearunnerwhen you apply bodyglide instead of deodorant. Lots of jokes that only we runners would understand!

As for the calf muscles - they're feeling better. While I had to cut my Tuesday run short due to tightness, physio really helped on Wednesday. I also canned my Thursday mid-long run so that I can hopefully get my full 20K long run in tomorrow. It's just a Grade 1 Calf Strain, but I'm doing lots of stretching to get it back into shape, pronto.

Hello Spring! RunPorn

We've been basking in some serious springtime weather this week. Temperatures are well above freezing and the sun is shining! It's wonderful. Here are a couple runporn pics to celebrate the awesome weather. I can't wait to throw open the windows this weekend.

Here's your Friday dose of running-inspired photos. As you can see, I'm in a beachy kind of place today. It's been a long, rough week at work and I'm craving the weekend. Only 5 hours to go!

A couple of photos for today. The first is a recent cover of Canadian Running Magazine with yet another one of my heroes: Tara Quinn-Smith. Tara is a member of the Brooks Canada Marathon Project. She is also the holder of the Canadian women's record in the Half Marathon. I've seen her in person at a couple local races and she is very small, but one powerful runner!

The second is a hilarious ad from New Balance from 2008. I should really print one out!

Friday Dose of RunPorn

Today's RunPorn post features a couple of my favourite things. I really like the Saucony "We Know" ad campaign... they always make me smile when I come across them in a magazine. And Paula Radcliffe is one of my running heroes, so I thought a picture of her winning the NYC marathon would be pretty inspirational.

Finally, I found an old Runnersworld Rave Run photo of Ottawa! Every month Runnersworld great photo of a runner running in a beautifuls setting. I've always thought that Ottawa has tons of great places for those kinds of photos. This one was published in 2000. Thanks to Runnersweb for hosting it.

I saw a blog earlier today that had a really neat concept. It was similar to food porn... where you have photos of food and dishes that make you salivate and crave the food. The blog I saw was the same thing, but with running. Yes, running!

This person had posted great running photos and ads on her blog. You know, the ones that make us crazies want to go out for a run. Or the ads we identify with. The ones that bring a smile to our faces or give us the urge to tie up the laces.

I came across these photos from Reuters in a gallery from the cold weather in Europe. The first is from Berlin and features a runner along the River Spree, while the second is of Brighton Beach, England. Too bad they're not high resolution, as they'd make great desktop wallpapers.
